An Intimate Garden of the Gods Celebration for Lindsey & Pete

Pete and Lindsey had been engaged for a few months, debating on wedding dates that would work best around their kiddos schedules and Pete’s somewhat unpredictable military leave. In early December, Lindsey called … “Do you think we could get married New Year’s Eve?” It was less than 30 days away and during the busy holiday season, but we all agreed that it could be done and that we would do our best to make it everything the couple was dreaming of.
We quickly got to work researching venues, talking through the budget and lining up vendors. All in all, landing at Garden of the Gods was the perfect choice for Pete and Lindsey’s ceremony. The two had gotten engaged in the park and spent date days with their kids there, not to mention they are both avid adventure and outdoor enthusiasts.

On New Year’s Eve, we all woke early to get ready and to pick-up donuts and hot coffee. The girls got ready at Kinship Landing a local boutique hotel in downtown Colorado Springs, while Pete and the kiddos got ready at home.

The weather was beautiful, sunny with a slight breeze and considerably warm for the end of December. Guests arrived, grabbed a cup of hot cocoa or coffee, snuggled up with a blanket on the red rocks and waited for the ceremony to begin as hymns played in the background.

Lindsey and Pete’s ceremony was filled with tender moments. Family read Bible scriptures over them, took communion and there wasn’t a dry eye when Lindsey made her vows to Pete’s girls and Pete made his vow to Lindsey’s son uniting them as a family forever.

They ended their ceremony with an epic “walk down the aisle” through the red rocks of Garden of the Gods to the top of a large rock peak overlooking the city and so many of their favorite people.

We have been friends with Lindsey for over a decade. To say it was a pure joy to bring her wedding together would be the biggest understatement. This woman exudes kindness, patience and love everywhere she goes and we couldn’t be happier that she found her soulmate in Pete.
