“It's not very often that I find myself writing a Google review; I'm either giving a sports-themed barber shop a one-star review for destroying my luscious locks, or I'm giving a five-star review to a Mediterranean-themed salad bar chain for comping my meal when the cashier saw me roll my eyes impatiently after a customer in the front of the long line asked a second time for a breakdown of all the ingredients in the humus. The point being, I don't write reviews unless I am exceedingly happy, or the opposite, about the services I experienced. In the case of Flourish Event Co., they deserve a five-star review. My wife and I needed a day-of coordinator for our wedding. My wife, Kristin, enjoys planning events and we were doing everything we could to work within our budget and schedule. (It's 2022 and long gone are the days where you can throw a wedding without having to choose from a limited number of vendors for the venue, and your cousin Jake could bar tend with all the alcohol you bought at Costco. But I digress...) Working within budget meant we weren't able to hire a full-time wedding coordinator. Luckily we weren't limited in our choices, and were blessed to come across Amelia from Flourish Event Co. who was more than willing to take on the role as our day-of wedding coordinator. Looking back on our wedding day, we were very, very happy with our decision. Amelia and Jenna executed our wedding day expertly. My wife and I have described our wedding as "perfect". Our married friends warned us to be prepared for "one big thing to go wrong" at our wedding; the only thing that went wrong was me forgetting to have one of the three desserts offered. Am I exaggerating? I'm 99% serious, and the other 1% was family dynamics you can't control. That being said, Amelia and Jenna were the ones that made the event unfold smoothly. They were entirely calm helping everyone get ready and the venue assembled. When we needed answers to last minute questions, they delivered. When we had to call a few audibles during the service, Amelia and Jenna weren't phased. With as much time as you (or mostly your wife) plan a wedding, you are still going to miss something; Amelia and Jenna knew how weddings worked and stayed ahead of us by having the foresight to solve problems before we noticed any. Amelia and Jenna formulated a backup plan in case it rained right before our outdoor service. Additionally, they fielded all the annoying questions we didn't want to deal with. Amelia pinned all the boutonnieres on all of the men on my side; there were ten, including me, because my wife was inspired by watching 27 Dresses and put nine women on her side. Amelia and Jenna remembered our favorite drink and had two glasses ready for us at our marriage license signing. This provided us with a memorable opportunity to celebrate what we had just done and catch our breath. We were both very impressed with their professionalism. It occurred to me later how challenging it must be to offer day-of wedding coordination services, rather than full wedding planning services. You are asked to come in at the last minute, figure out everything the bride and groom attempted to plan, fill in the gaps in short order, make sure the wedding is executed perfectly, and deal with all the crazies along the way. That's a lot of pressure; Amelia and Jenna made it look easy. Kristin and I are very grateful for your support and will recommend you to anyone we know who is getting married. But seeing as how we are the last in our friend groups to tie the knot, it would benefit you more if we wrote a review for all to read. Thank you, so much!”
